Update #2, Monday, April 20. WORK PLAN FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 20, 2015
The following is from the Biddeford City Engineer to provide you with information of what you can expect on Route 1 in Biddeford for the upcoming week. Please note that this information is based on a projected schedule and is subject to change due to weather and/or other circumstances.
CITY PROJECT: ROUTE 1 SEWER WORK: Elm Street Sewer Separation Project
Local businesses open and available. Follow access/detour signage.
Monday and Tuesday:
-Southbound traffic on Route 1 will be detoured onto Main Street, then to Bradbury St., South St. and back to Route 1.
-One-way North bound traffic on Route 1 is currently planned. Detours may occur during pipe crossing and paving.
The Contractor will attempt to keep two-way traffic with lane shifts. Detours and/or alternating one-way traffic may be required during pipe connection work.
MAINE WATER COMPANY PROJECT: ELM STREET
Maine Water Company will be installing a large 20″ valve assembly at the intersection of Main Street and Elm Street. This valve installation work is scheduled for night but set up work may begin in the afternoon and cleanup work may occur the following morning. Contact Maine Water Company (207-282-1543) for particular details.
Following valve assembly installation, the water company will be installing a new water main on Elm Street, from Main Street to South Street. This work is currently scheduled as day time work. One-way Northbound Route 1 traffic is scheduled to occur. Southbound traffic will be detoured at Main Street.
MAINE DOT – ROUTE 1 PAVING PROJECT:
Maine DOT contractor will be lowering sewer and drain structures in advance of road paving, scheduled after June 1st. Currently, no traffic detouring is anticipated. Contact MDOT field office at 215- 3802 for details.
Bridge Replacement – Pine Street
The Somesville Bridge (Pine Street) will be closed for thirteen (13) months, beginning April 20, 2015 to May 26, 2016 for bridge replacement.
