Why We Built a 7-Minute Workout Station
David Flood (HOB Board member) first brought the idea of building the country’s first 7-Minute Workout Station to a meeting of the Healthy Maine Streets Committee a little over a year ago. As an avid user of the Johnson & Johnson created workout, David found it to be a very easy to complete yet beneficial workout.
So, our Healthy Maine Streets group worked with Caleb Johnson Architects and the City of Biddeford to build and install the scientifically proven 7-Minute Workout Station in Mechanics Park.
Two sleek apparatuses are now in Mechanics Park near the Gazebo, available for the community’s use at any time. The directions are right on the stations, or users can download the 7-Minute Workout app.
To encourage the community to use the workout station, local health guru Dana Johnson has kicked off a free weekly community workout. All are invited to meet on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 (beginning April 22, 2015) at the Biddeford Savings Bank parking lot. The group will make their way down to Mechanics Park, complete one or two rounds of the workout, then come back up Main Street.
Have you tried it at home or in Mechanics Park? Let us know if you’re finding it helpful!
