Art Inside Out Call to Artists: “Historic Biddeford”

Heart of Biddeford is pleased to announce a second Call to Artists, following the theme “Historic Biddeford.” Artists and artisans of all disciplines and styles are invited to submit an image of their work that captures a historic building of downtown Biddeford.
Submissions should depict a unique vantage point of one of Biddeford’s historic architectural treasures, while demonstrating the artist’s unique creative style. Submissions will be juried by the Heart of Biddeford Design Committee, and selected works will be displayed in vacant and occupied storefronts in time for Biddeford’s April ArtWalk.
About the Program
Local and regional artists are selected to exhibit their work via large photo reproductions printed on vinyl banner material and installed in the windows of selected downtown storefronts. The banners exhibit an image of the artist’s work, the artist’s name, artwork title, the program title (Art Inside Out) and Heart of Biddeford contact info. The ArtWalk event, which occurs the last Friday of every month between April and November, will benefit from these added works.
“Art Inside Out” creates a strong visual statement, provides artists an opportunity to exhibit their work to a larger audience, and turns downtown Biddeford into an outdoor art gallery. Not only does the program stimulate the downtown environment, but it also offers a cultural opportunity for local citizens and visitors to learn more about art and the creative process, making art more accessible for all.
Submissions and Deadline
1. Artists must submit a 300 dpi minimum professional image of their art work, capturing the “Historic Biddeford” theme.
2. Artists must agree that HOB can use the image for creating a window banner, and the image will only be used for this purpose.
3. Submissions must be emailed to HOB at director@heartofbiddeford.org, and include Title of Work, Artist’s Name, Media Type, and a brief description of the work.
4. Entries must be submitted by April 1, 2018.
