Cycle for Sweetser, Saturday, September 17
Cycle for Sweetser is a fun community event that takes place entirely on the scenic Eastern Trail, which runs alongside Sweetser’s Saco campus and makes for a perfect ride for families, community members, and biking enthusiasts. The bike ride includes three distances, including a 2 mile course for kids, 8 miles, and 14 miles. Click for more information.
Alzeheimer’s Walk, Saturday, Sept. 17, in York Beach.
Meet at the Ruby Tuesday parking lot in Biddeford at 7:45 am and car pool to York together. Registration begins at 8, the opening ceremony starts at 9 and the walk starts at 9:30. It’s a 2 mile walk along York Beach so we should be done by 10:30. Make a donation here!
Free Bean Supper, Saturday, September 17
The Knights of Columbus are hosting a free bean supper in the downstairs hall at St. Joseph Church from 5-6:30pm. Included are all the fixings of a bean supper along with pizza for kids of all ages. Cost is FREE in appreciation for all in our Parish and Community who have helped make your local Knights of Columbus Council successful. Donations will be accepted but not required. Inanna, Sisters in Rhythm at Second Congregational Church, Saturday, September 17
An all women’s percussion and vocal ensemble dedicated to cultural diversity, education, and healing thrugh the universal language of music. Blending western vocal harmonies with the polyrhythms of West Africa, the Meddle East, and Brazil, they create a multicultural fusion beyond tradition. The band takes it name from the ancient Sumerian Goddess Inanna, who was worshiped more than 4,000 years ago when it is believed that the drummers were predominantly women.vSecond Congregational Church
