Lincoln Street: Work has begun to repair the wall that abuts the street near the Lincoln Street mill. This project also includes installing underground conduit (to bury the power lines at another point). Parking will be displaced during this part of the construction phase. Businesses, including Mulligans, will remain open during this 3-4 week long project. Here’s the traffic flow:

  • Lincoln St. will be one-way, going from Main Street to Saco Falls Way (see traffic control plan).
  • No right turns will be allowed from Stone Street onto Lincoln Street.
  • Between Elm Street and Saco Falls Way, there will be full, two-way access to the Mills and the Lofts.
  • The road will become two-way for the weekends, beginning at 3 p.m. on Fridays.

CALEA Accreditation Forum for the Biddeford Police Department.
The Biddeford Police Department began the voluntary process of law enforcement accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). An external team of assessors will conduct a 3-day onsite assessment in April, and will include a forum at City Hall Council Chambers Mon., April 9, 5:30 p.m. for the community to offer commentary. Comments should reflect upon the department’s compliance with CALEA standards, which are available at the Biddeford Police Department.
