HOB Seeks Amateur & Pro Photos!

The Heart of Biddeford Design Committee seeks submissions from photographers to feature in a Biddeford gift calendar. The calendar will feature 12 unique images of Biddeford, with a primary focus on the downtown, as well as photos that demonstrate the diversity of Biddeford’s assets. The calendars will be created and sold in time for the holiday season, with proceeds to help pay for beautification projects in the downtown (such as holiday decorations, facade lighting, and painting projects).

“We are seeking images that tell the story of Biddeford,” says Design Committee Chair Don Winterhalter. “We would love to see images that allow us to see something familiar but from a new angle or with different lighting.”

Executive Director Delilah Poupore adds, “We hope the artists receive exposure at the same time that locals and visitors get exposed to new things about this city.”

The photos must be original (up to five submissions per artist). Twelve images will be chosen for the calendar. Winning images will receive photo credit in the calendar, a free calendar, and will be part of an ArtWalk display at Heart of Biddeford, featuring all of the winning images. Artists maintain ownership of the rights to use their photo.

Images can be submitted until 5 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 3, by email to info@heartofbiddeford.org or by mail to 205 Main Street, Suite 103, Biddeford, Maine 04005. Digital images must be high resolution (300 dpi) to ensure printing accuracy.
