Amy Rose Goodness is a Mainer through and through. Born and raised in Saco, she brings a sense of community and pride to every uniquely Maine piece she creates.
As an undergraduate at Maine College of Art, Amy learned classical techniques in stone carving, mold making and metal casting. She graduated in 2004 with a BFA in sculpture and a passion for making things from raw materials. Naturally, textural mediums such as encaustic paint have been a centerpiece of her work since. Amy went on to receive an M.Ed. from Lesley University in 2011 and worked as a middle school art teacher for 8 years before starting a family of her own. Now her time is divided between creative work and mother of two rambunctious little boys. often working in the early morning hours watching the sun rise over acres of horse pasture and a big red barn. The perfect setting for her creative practice. Her artistic work flows between painting, and jewelry design, each piece influencing the next.
Amy’s jewelry designs exemplify the simplicity and elegance of Maine’s unique beauty. A slower pace, small town charm and timeless beauty. Her handcrafted works inspire an appreciation for the environment, organic form and simplicity. Made one at a time, by hand, her jewelry is intended to be received as a heartfelt gift. Whether you are a native or a loyal visitor to the state, wearing a piece by Amy Rose will evoke a sense of pride that is shared between everyone who loves this special place.
